Wandering along Kanchenjunga Day 3 Part 2

 Day 3 Part 2

Our next destination was parasailing with  the conducive weather beckoning us... We had waited for near noon as the wind velocity picks up by then... Opting for the high fly, we had to climb a peak that was at a height of 4 kms if measured vertically from the landing point... and that was another peak... Three fourth  of it was traversed on a vehicle lugging the paraphernalia along...

On the way up the hill had  a glimpse of Mount Kanchenjunga... Seeing it my joy knew no bounds... Couldn't take a snapshot on a winding road... In between the various mountain peaks saw it rising above the shroud of mist and white fluffy clouds... It was majestic... It looked as though the snow covered peaks were floating on a plate of cloud ... So far my description about mountain had been of  lower ranges of The Himalayas... Kanchenjunga with its misty shroud is a breathtaking view... What I felt was nothing short of  Dhanyosmi...

Then for about 20 minutes we had to climb a steep section by foot... Lock stock and barrel... That was quite  something... Along with self weight the  altitude made the breathing a bit difficult... but somehow managed  to clamber on to the top... There, along with a pilot got ready... We had to wait a bit for the wind speed to pick up and that gave me some respite to get used to the altitude...

By the time we set sail clear sky gave way to the clouds. A bit of chill wind had started to blow...Uncannily the sun was playing hide and seek giving us a pleasant play of light and shade... It was a wonderful feeling... I remembered  Jonathan Livingstone
Seagull... The feeling was unbelievable... The deep valley kissed by the sunshine... The trees... Sal, Teak and  Conifers swaying to the cold breeze... Green leaves in many hues shining and dancing to beats of the  rays and the wind... Buildings along the
mountain side on either side of the valley with their colourful facades in stretches and layered... The stepped organic farming fields... Meandering roads and pathways... Monasteries and temples dotting in various colours of primary and its combinations amidst the sea of green...  That was an absolute breathtaking experience... It has to be experienced as words are insufficient to describe it.

Believe it or not it was worth it... I had my lungs filled with pristine air and the feeling was just wonderful...  Wow! What a rejuvenating experience it was! Made me feel alive in every cell...
