Wandering along Kanchenjunga Day 4 Part 3

Day 4 Part 3

Close to the Changu Lake is the Ropeway which takes us to the top of a  peak ... It is a viewpoint of the  Kanchenjunga massif , with Kanchenjunga and Kabru  being visible... It was a treat to the eyes as well as the mind... The weariness and the  altitude sickness just went puff in the air... I then realized the effect of Himalayas and why the sages went there to meditate from time to time...

Around the Changu Lake  we went on a Yak ride...
It is one of the most sedate animal I have seen and a very comfortable and friendly animal...

By the time we started back, it was 3 p.m., way past the lunch time  On our way up we were advised not to have food. Though our heart and mind were singing paeans to the beauty of the Himalayas and soaring like a kite, the feeling of hollow that started inside our breadbasket brought us down to earth. We needed the sustenance... soon.... So our next stop was at a small eatery some 20kms away, where tasty Chowmein was served ... That was really delicious and satisfying after all the energy spent...

When we headed back to Gangtok it was to view the sun at the horizon... It becomes dark by 5.30 now...
