Wandering along Kanchenjunga Day 6 Part 4
As we entered Darjeeling.. we visited Ghoom Monastery, this one too belonging to Gelug or Yellow Hat Sect...
After paying our obeisance to Lord Buddha, we headed towards the town...
The final stop was the garden housing The War Memorial at its center....

With that we headed towards our hotel... As expected the hotel here was quite small, once again wood paneled walls. But it was the streets that took me aback... The driver needs to be extremely skillful... The roads are like alleys where only one vehicle can pass. The vehicle coming from the opposite direction needs to go on reverse downhill until it widens. Our chauffeur was one skillful driver.
